Welcome to the Hospitality Law Conference + Hotel ROI

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Hospitality Law Conference 2017 now in its 15th year, including the 1st Hotel ROI event and 4th Annual Hospitality Insurance & Loss Prevention Summit, held at the DoubleTree Suites – Greenway Plaza, Houston, Texas, Monday, April 24 to Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

Since its inception, the conference has dramatically expanded in scope, uniting hundreds of industry executives and other thought leaders to break down silos and create cross-functional dialogues on the most pressing issues in the hospitality field. These exciting sessions are crafted to bring you up to speed and anticipate future issues to assist you in your performance. Our goal has always been to provide the industry with quality education on legal, safety, and security challenges.

Hospitality Insurance and Loss Prevention Summit: The Hospitality Insurance and Loss Prevention Summit converges insurance, risk, LP, legal and finance to break down the silos of these functional areas. As we do each year, we begin with
the top claims that have occurred over the last twelve months and the best practices to prevent them from occurring at your hotel or restaurant.

Hospitality stakeholders will have even more opportunity in Houston as hotel brands upgrade in order to compete in the growing market for tourism and convention business. Food & Beverage: Produced and presented in coordination with the National Restaurant Association, this track focuses on food illness and other food safety claims, liability challenges when serving beverages containing alcohol, premises liability claims, and the essential financial aspects of restaurants.

Lodging: Management agreements- key negotiating points, traps to avoid and provisions to include in settling hospitality claims, trends in discrimination including the ADA claims arising out of FMLA, distribution and the world of parity, trending issues in hospitality regulation are highlights of this years Lodging track.

Human Resources & Labor Relations: Department of Labor sets its sights on the Hospitality industry, lessons learned in human resources from pop culture’s 2015 memorable moments, changing laws in privacy and data security in the Hospitality industry, are all included in the Labor and Employment track in 2016.
